Playing in the rain

This seems like a few and far between kind of moment so far this summer seeing as it hasn't rained much.  Robbie had a great time playing in the puddles the rain left.

Yup He's A Boy

I got some mulch with grampy's truck to put around the yard, and Robbie kept "digging" the mulch I had laid down and was throwing it around.  So we figured lets let him dig in the bed of the truck where he wouldn't mess up what I already put down.  I'll let the pictures and video speak how much fun he had doing it.  Needless to say he needed a bath afterwards.

Drawing on the Driveway

Robbie found a soft stone lining the walkway and tried to give it to me.  I showed him he could rub it on the walkway and it would draw like chalk.  He then spent the next ten minutes or so drawing with the stone randomly on the walkway and driveway.  Here's a video of some of it.

Robbie's Wheelbarrow

Robbie got a wheelbarrow from grammy.  He took right to it and loves wheeling it around, just like daddy and mommy do with the full size wheelbarrow.

Easter Egg Hunt

While it may not have been Robbie's first Easter, it was his first Easter egg hunt.  I wasn't too sure how well he'd do, or if he'd even be interested in looking for them, but he sure showed me.  I guess I should know better by now.  We lucked out with the nice weather, otherwise we may have had to do it inside.  I suppose I should have put the eggs a little closer to the walk way because he wasn't too keen about going past the rocks to go get them.  We recorded the whole thing, it's a little long, but worth the watch (in a father's opinion) if you have to time.

We later went to lunch buffet with my parents, aunt Kathy, and Robbie's uncle Chris.  We had a nice time Robbie was somewhat interested in the Easter Bunny they had there, but wasn't about to run up to him.  Robbie ate pretty well, he especially liked the deserts (go figure), he even took a chocolate cookie home with him, he got most of it in his mouth.

Robbie's New Car

Kelly picked up this used toy car the other day, and it was just warm enough for him to go play with it yesterday.  He is just big enough to play with it while sitting in it.  However he's not very good a moving it around while he's inside of it.  That being said he still really loves playing in it.  He loved it so much that he threw a temper tantrum when I brought him back inside.  We went inside because it I  had gotten too cold to stay out anymore, even if he didn't care how cold he was.

Outdoor Fun

With all the nice weather we've been having Robbie got to enjoy some time outside much earlier in the year than I would have thought.  Of course now he is constantly pointing to go outside.  The top video shows Robbie playing in a rocking car at the play ground near city hall.  Below shows him playing with a ball that seems like it would be too big for him (no we don't normally let him walk on the concrete without holding one of our hands, we don't need him falling on that).  I enjoy going outside with Robbie, the problem is most of the time he wants me to carry him and take him where every he points and grunts to.  He's slowly getting better at actually walking on the grass with someone holding his hand, so I don't have to carry him quite as much (which is good he's heavy).

 

Spring

Robbie got to enjoy a beautiful first day of spring with his grammy.  However first Robbie decided he must eat his foot for breakfast before he could enjoy the weather.  He and grammy got to go for a nice walk and he played quite a bit outside, he also tried to look cool wearing grammy's sun glasses.  He finally decided he was worn out and it was time for a nap.

A walk in the park

We went for a nice long walk in the Brecksville metro park today.  First we went on the swing where there was a little girl the same age, but much smaller, she said bye-bye to Robbie when they left.  We don't normally go for walks where there are this many people so it seemed a little surprising to me how many people basically gawked and made googly eyes at Robbie, saying how cute he was.  Especially when he got tired of the stroller and walked for a short bit.  Maybe lots of kids get that, I'm just not used to getting so much of it on one trip.  Here are a couple cute pictures worth sharing of Robbie on a stump.

We finally had a decent snow and time to enjoy it for the first time this winter.  He got to play with his first snow ball and didn't want to let go, he even brought in back inside with us.  We then made a family of snow angels with Robbie's snow angel in the middle.  You can see the picture of Robbie's by pretty well, but the family one is kind of hard to see.

On our last day in Nashville, we wanted to give Robbie an experience in a pool before we left the hotel.  The water was a little chilly so he didn't want to go in much further than his picture with Mommy.  Hopefully next time the water will be warmer.

Chillin' in the Chair

While we were waiting for Daddy to come back home from Philly, Robbie and I went outside to enjoy the nice weather.  I finally felt comfortable putting him in his folding chair and letting him sit up by himself.  We sat outside on the deck for a little while.  He had fun looking around at the cats and putting his hands up on the arm rests of the chair.  

We then went outside in the yard.  He seemed to enjoy it quite a bit, and had fun looking around at the elements of nature around him.  It was also fun to look in on the cats looking out instead of looking out with the cats sharing the view.  He seemed to notice his toes for the first time as well, which meant I couldn't get him to look up for the camera no matter how hard I tried!  

It's hard to believe he's over four months old already, but I guess time flies faster than we want when we have children.  Neither one of us can wait until Matt gets back so we can be a family together again.
