Christmas

We were visited by some rain deer
Yes these really are your relatives
Yum Pie!

Boy Christmas day a year ago is the day we brought Robbie home from the hospital, it's amazing how much has changed since then.  From getting a new home to Robbie looking like he could walk any day now (but I've been saying that for about a month now).  This Christmas was a little less crazy than the one a year ago, but with Kelly's family here there was definitely a lot going on.  Also having just moved in a week ago everything was still quite a blur.  At least Robbie actually got to enjoy this one (can't really comprehend anything at four days old).  Dinner went well, it may have been one of the biggest Christmas dinner's I've been a part of with 12 people at the table.  Robbie didn't eat a whole lot, he's still pretty clingy with the move. He did however enjoy eating pie!  He got about as many presents as everyone else combined, not really but he had quite the pile.  You can see his haul below.

All his presents (Grammy doesn't spoil him)

12 month appointment

Robbie had his 12 month doctor's appointment today.  He wasn't the happiest he's ever been with all that has been going.  He is now 24lbs and 9oz, 50.1cm head circumference, and is 30 3/4" long.  His weight is down to the 80th percentile and length is in the 75th, the first time he's been below 90 in any of his stats.  His head is still in the 95th percentile, but that's okay.  He got some new vaccines this visit and was not happy at all about them, even nursing didn't calm him down (poor little guy).

Robbie's 1st Birthday!

We celebrated Robbie's first birthday.  we were originally going to do it on Friday the day after his actual birthday, but then I realized that was the day of my high school class reunion.  It went great I think everyone enjoyed themselves, I think there were about 30 people at our house.  No one could believe we had just moved in four days before, it was crazy busy to get done (having Kelly's family here really helped) but it was worth it.  Robbie wasn't the most social he's ever been but he was dealing with a lot with the move, and all the people that were around, so he was very clingy to mom, dad, and grammy.

Here are a few pictures below, you can look in the "Photo Gallery" on the right side for more pictures.

Kelly's family

Kelly's family showed up today from Nashville.  We had just moved into the new house on Sunday, so them showing up will be a big help in getting things ready for Robbie birthday party.  They left much later than they had planned, and ended up driving though the night.  We weren't sure for a while if they were going to make it because there were some issues with the trailer wheel bearings they came up with, but luckily they made it in at 8am.

A night out

We all got to go out with my parents.  We went to the Pepper Mill to see the Pop Tarts perform. They couldn't get enough of Robbie, mentioning him several times during their performance, before we left.  He had a good time, and was busy walking around.

Thanksgiving

Robbie's first Thanksgiving!  We got some good pictures (hard not to right), but he didn't eat too much at dinner, he was tired and ended up taking a nap halfway through.

A whole table full of food for Robbie,
Will it be enough?

Smarty pants

Robbie thought he had outsmarted mom & dad last night. Kelly brought him to me to say goodnight, a routine he's familiar with. He reached for me like usual, this time Kelly handed him to me. Robbie smile at Kelly, thinking he want going to bed. I promptly walked into him room and laid him down in his crib.

Playing guitar

Robbie enjoys "playing" the guitar. Between him making the noise on the guitar and all the dancing (rhythmic wiggling) he does, he seems like he's going to be quite musically inclined.

Crib fits

Robbie figured out how to stand up in his crib last night.  Which is pretty impressive because we have a tent kind of netting in there so he cannot just grab the vertical crib bars.  He promptly got mad because he couldn't get out.

New Home

Just had the home inspection to the house we want to but.  Everything looks good, just minor things.  Robbie was dancing in it so it has his approval.  Here's the picture from the listing.

Bumble Bees and Pumpkins

Kelly really wanted to get some pictures of Robbie in his bumble bee costume.  So we headed to Monroe's Orchard were we took some good ones.  The temperature was fairly mild so we were able to take them without his jacket on, below are some of our favorites.  While we were there we also got some good local apple cider and apples.

Da Da

Robbie said Da Da tonight.  I don't think he knew what he was saying, but it seemed like he did.  It definitely put a smile on my face.

Eating Spinach

Robbie is not human, he eats spinach and wants more.  All we do is cook some fresh spinach and add a little butter, and he gobbles it up.

Can't roll back over

Robbie is finally enjoying time on his stomach. Now that his acid re-flux is fully gone he realized he could move around more on his stomach than his back. So what does this mean, it means that he flips onto his stomach in his crib at night and gets mad because he's "forgotten" how to roll back onto his back.

9 Month Appointment

9 month doctor's appointment today.  He weighs 23 lbs 8.7oz (he gained a 0.1 of an oz), but he's now 29 1/2" long (he's starting to thin out), his head is now 48.6cm in circumference.

Great Uncle David

Robbie met my uncle David, unfortunately Kelly told David that Robbie liked being upside down.  She meant that he liked to be leaned backwards so that he is kind of upside down.  David took it to mean he liked hanging by his ankles upside down, now Robbie does not like David.  I'm sure he'll out grow that though.

Chris's house warming party

My brother Chris got a house and we attended his house warming party.  Chris got to hold him for a little bit, and the girls at the party were very could keep their eyes off him.
Who are you again?

Being the center of attention

Natural History Museum

The first Thursday of each month Cleveland's Natural History Museum has free entry.  Robbie got to have another play date with his buddy Leo and his mom Cori, Grammy also got to go with us.  This little girl was there and just ran up and hugged Robbie, it was very cute.  Robbie's favorite part seemed to be the otters, he got to look at them under water, I think their movements drew his attention.  Unfortunately the boys couldn't be with us, they were busy working.

Ma Ma

Robbie started saying Ma Ma today.  He's been saying ba ba ba quite a bit before Ma Ma.  Don't think he quite understands what he's saying, but it's still cute.  Still waiting for Da Da.

The Koteli and Mesenger's day out

For the first time since Leo came home from the hospital we all got to hang out with the entire Mesenger family.  It was great fun, it started at the Rockefeller Park greenhouse.  We then went on to have a picnic lunch.  Leo took a couple naps Robbie did not and was a little cranky near the end of it.  It was a perfect day for the outing, clear and not too hot.  Unfortunately Robbie got a mosquito bite, and had a fairly bad reaction to it (recovered just fine though).

Leo seems to be entertained by Robbie, while
Robbie seems to be unsure of what to think of

Robbie's first wedding

Robbie went to his first wedding, if was for Kevin and Michele.  He was with us for the ceremony and was suppose to stay with my parents for the reception.  Well he was there for a couple hours before Kelly had to go back and get him because he was pretty unhappy.  She brought him to the reception for about an hour before we left, he seemed to enjoy himself.

6 month appointment

Robbie had his 6 month doctor's appointment (even though he was actually about 7 months old).  He now weighs 23lbs 8.7oz, his head circumference is 47.7cm (97th percentile), and is 28 3/4" long.

Vincennes

Ba Ba was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, so Robbie and I made a trip to Vincennes, IN to see him and get paperwork taken care of.  It wasn't an easy trip but one I'm glad I made.

West Virginia - Moundsville

So on our way back we made a slight detour to a town called Moundsville.  The city got its name from the largest native american burial mound.  You can't really tell the scale from the pictures but it was a bit of a hike up to the top.  It was a first for all three of us, none of us had been to a burial mound before.

West Virginia - Hiking

While in West Virginia we did quite a bit of hiking, it was a really great area for it, lots of trails all over the place, we mainly stuck to the easier ones.  This place really was out in BFE, but that was the point, heck the nearest grocery store was a good 30 minute drive away.  It was really nice to get away from the normal daily grind, I know that's a typical saying but it really was nice just to get away.  It was kind of surprising how little fussing Robbie did during hours we hiked that week, he did however do quite a bit of sleeping as you can see.   Even though it was bear country we never came across any, it would have been neat to see some (from the safety of the car that is).
