Fan Boy

Robbie has always had a fascination with ceiling fans, so much so that we said he had a "fan club" when he was younger.  A couple weeks ago I put a ceiling fan in his room, and his  fascination has seemingly become an obsession.  Now practically every room that he goes into that has a ceiling fan (and some that don't), he signs fan and wants us to turn the ceiling fan on.  While we can't be sure what triggered this, whether it be that it's been warmer out and he sees the fans on more and he thinks they should be always on; or for some reason having one in his room again (he had one in his room in the condo) has caused his obsession. 

One kind of odd but very nice effect of putting a ceiling fan in is room is that about a week ago if we turn it on and put him in his crib to nap or to sleep for the night he doesn't throw a fit about it.  Not only has he not been throwing fits about it, he has actually been pointing to his crib and wanting to lay down in it.  It seems unlikely that it is a coincidence, but it also seems odd that something so simple could make such a big difference.  Either way we're happy that he goes down in his crib calmly, even though he is usually busy talking to the fan for about an hour when we put in down for the night before he actually falls asleep.  Added bonus: he sleeps through the night most of the time, which means we get more sleep too.
